January TBR

Hi, all! I think that this month I might be overshooting, but I have a lot of books I want to try to get to in January. There’s pretty much not even a chance that I’ll complete them all but here’s what I’ve pulled for my January TBR.

Currently Reading….
The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1)The Hunger Games – Suzanne Collins

If you saw my new year reading resolutions, you know that I’m determined to do some series reading this year. I’m starting with the Hunger Games books because they were easily accessible to me at my local library.

To read…
Catching Fire (The Hunger Games, #2)Catching Fire – Suzanne Collins

I’m definitely the type of person that needs to read books in a series one right after the other, so I plan to dive straight into this after finishing book one.

Mockingjay (The Hunger Games, #3)Mockingjay – Suzanne Collins

Then I’m going to wrap the series up with Mockingjay. I haven’t see all three movies so I’m not entirely sure what to expect with the last two books, but my sister used to adore this series, so I’m excited.

The War BlogThe War Blog – Glen Sobey

This isn’t actually an ARC (it’s already been published), but it is from NetGalley, so call it what you will. I’m auto-approved by the publisher, Black Rose Writing, and this looked interesting, so I put it on my list. However, since then I’ve seen an abundance of bad reviews, so I’m a little anxious. This is the only NetGalley read I plan to tackle this month.

The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #1)The Lightning Thief – Rick Riordan

Yes, I’m going to go into yet another series in January! I read book 1 (this one) in the sixth grade (wow I just realized that was 10 years ago) for Battle of the Books (were you really a book nerd if you didn’t participate in BOTB???) and I loved it. This is solely responsible for my growing interest in mythology. I haven’t read any other books in the series, but I wanted to reread this first because it’s been so long.

The Sea of Monsters (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #2)The Sea of Monsters – Rick Riordan

think I saw the movie adaption but I don’t remember it whatsoever so I’m going in blind here, as with the rest of the series.

The Titan's Curse (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #3)The Titan’s Curse – Rick Riordan

Book 3 of the the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series.

The Battle of the Labyrinth (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #4)The Battle of the Labyrinth – Rick Riordan

Book 4.

The Last Olympian (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #5)The Last Olympian – Rick Riordan

Yep, you guessed it, book five. (;

Queens of GeekQueens of Geek – Jen Wilde

I’ve owned this novel for at least a year but have never tried to read it. Why, you may ask? Because I have a problem buying books that I will never have the time to get to. I wanted a stand alone to wrap up my month in the chance that I actually finish all of these (I won’t), so I chose this.

So, there’s all of the books that I’m going to try to get through this month. I’ve already finished one read in January (Call Me By Your Name by André Aciman), so if I somehow finished this whole list, I’d be reading 11 books. I’m not all too confident, but I will say that January is usually a good reading month for me because the start of a new year gets me motivated. But, ya know, we’ll see!

What books do you have planned to read this month? Talk to me (:

  1. Oh my gosh, I just finished reading THG for the first time at the end of December! PJO is one of my favorite series of all times, if you ever need to gush to someone, I’m here.

    1. I’m on book two in THG now and I like it so much more than I thought I would! I liked the first movie but Katniss was very withdrawn and I was worried that the book would feel the same but thankfully it didn’t! And I lovedddd the first PJO book so I’m SO excited to read the rest of the series!! I will definitely be gushing about how much I love it.

    1. Yessss I wanted to just go ahead and dive right in😂 I just finished The Hunger Games trilogy yesterday and should be starting the PJ series sometime this weekend. I figured if I start with series early in the year, it won’t be too disappointing if I burn out on them and want to check out some stand alones for a while. Planning ahead for my own mood reading 😅
