Cover Porn: My Favorite Book Covers

Hi, all! Sorry if you’re currently cringing at the title, but I love it when people refer to “cover porn”. Sometimes book covers are just so beautiful that you want to put it on display in your home for everyone else to see and appreciate. I have a lot of those. So, today I’m going to share a few with you.

Now, I know that there are probably some books that are appeasing to me but aren’t so much to someone else, so we might differ in opinions here! But I’m gonna share my favorites with you anyways, and if you don’t like them as much, that’s totally fine! Maybe share your favorite book covers as well, and we can compare (:

(These are in no particular order, I’m pulling them straight from my “Cover-Porn” list on GoodReads)

All the Missing GirlsAll the Missing Girls– Megan Miranda

It’s been a while since I read this, but I do remember a lot of it (which makes me think it was a good read). I remember the cover most, though, because it’s so pretty to me.

Eliza and Her MonstersEliza and Her Monsters– Francesca Zappia

I didn’t like this book as much as the masses, but I do think the cover is phenomenal. I will give that credit where it is due.

The Last Wish of Sasha CadeThe Last Wish of Sasha Cade– Cheyanne Young

There is really something about flowers on a cover that I just love. They are so pretty and they just make a book so alluring to me, even if the story isn’t so great (although this one was amazing).

The Nowhere GirlsThe Nowhere Girls– Amy Reed

In addition to this being a beautiful cover, the story inside is even better. I 100% recommend this to everyone.

It's Kind of a Funny StoryIt’s Kind of a Funny Story– Ned Vizzini

Another great story behind a great cover! I know this might seem like a weird choice for cover porn for some, but there’s just always been something about the map inside of the silhouette that I’ve loved since I picked this book up 4 years ago.

Uncaged WallflowerUncaged Wallflower– Jennae Cecelia

This wasn’t the poetry book for me… I think I gave it two stars. But the cover on the other hand… I love. It reminds me of Peter Pan and Wendy flying… even though that’s very clearly not what is happening here. But come on…. you see it too, right?

The Assassin GameThe Assassin Game– Kirsty McKay

I wouldn’t necessarily call this cover “pretty”. But it’s eerily alluring… and works perfectly for the type of story. I also love that it includes the creepy mask with the pretty, sophisticated outfit/appearance. There’s just something about this cover that makes me want to read the book (even though I already did).

I'll Give You the SunI’ll Give You the Sun– Jandy Nelson

I know this probably seems like a simple cover… but rainbows always pull me in. I’ve actually seen a lot of other reviewers say that they love this cover as well. So, I’m not the only one obsessed with the simplicity.

The Summer of Broken ThingsThe Summer of Broken Things– Margaret Peterson Haddix

Please refer to my former stance about flowers on covers. Also, I love the color yellow. So mix these two together, and I’ll love the cover (even though I didn’t love the book so much).

We Were LiarsWe Were Liars– E. Lockhart

I hateeeeeeee this book. Oh my god, I don’t even want to get started on how much I hated this book. But I still like the cover. There’s something about the clear water, the sun shining off the surface, and the teens together… takes you back to summers at lakes with your friends. At least it does for me.

So, now we’ve confirmed that I am unbiased toward covers. 4 of these books were stories that I didn’t like, but I still keep them on my shelves because I think they are beautiful.

Do you like any of these covers? If not, what are your favorite book covers? Talk to me (:
