Hey, all! The lovely Lori tagged me for this one, so we can all blame her if you guys are over me doing these things. Totally kidding Lori. Thank you for the tag! This one looks pretty fun (and long).
So, shall we?
AUTHOR YOU’VE READ THE MOST BOOKS FROM
I have truly no idea. Hold please, while I go to GoodReads to see if I can even figure out how to… figure that out.
OK I’m back. And it actually only took me about 30 seconds to find out how to do that! You learn something new everyday! Anywho, my most read author is Kate Brian. This is because she has a very enthralling boarding school series that I was absolutely obsessed with when I first got into YA books even though it’s probably one of the most unrealistic series I’ve ever read. This being said, I still recommend it to people who love boarding school mysteries ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ My second highest author is a tie between Jenny Han and Sarah Dessen and ya know… color me shocked (lots of sarcasm).
BEST SEQUEL EVER
Damn it, I hate questions about sequels. I don’t read very many series 😦 I’m going to say Secrets and Lies by Jacqueline Green. Before someone comes for me… I actually really enjoyed this little mystery/thriller high school drama mess a few years ago, and I can’t think of any other sequels that I wanted to get my hands on immediately after finishing the first.
The Spectacular Now by Tim Tharp.
DRINK OF CHOICE WHILE READING
Green tea or some very strong coffee.
E-READER OR PHYSICAL BOOK
Physical book, of course. I like the price of Ebooks but god do I love the feel of an actual book in my hand. :’)
FICTIONAL CHARACTER YOU PROBABLY WOULD HAVE ACTUALLY DATED IN HIGH SCHOOL
ALASKA FROM LOOKING FOR ALASKA. I’m basically in love with her and have been since I read the book the first time (6 years ago).
GLAD YOU GAVE THIS BOOK A CHANCE
The Hate List by Jennifer Brown. Even though this had been on my TBR list for a really long time, I didn’t find time for it until after the Parkland, Florida shooting earlier this year, and honestly wanted to side-table it for a while. I was worried I wouldn’t like it for multiple reasons, but one was definitely that I wasn’t sure I could be unbiased. However, I really enjoyed this book, and think that more people should be picking this up.
HIDDEN GEM BOOK
Beauty Queens by Libba Bray. This is an absolutely freaking fantastic book but doesn’t get nearly as much credit as it deserves. Just so we are on record here though, I absolutely despise the cover, though I appreciate the ironic effect.
IMPORTANT MOMENT IN YOUR READING LIFE
Being in a reading competition in 1st grade and reading over 100 books… When I think of my reading journey, it always starts there in my mind.
Emergency Contact by Mary H.K. Choi.
KINDS OF BOOKS YOU WON’T READ
Historical fiction 😥 I know that probably doesn’t earn me a lot of fans but I just can’t get into those books
LONGEST BOOK YOU’VE READ
I have absolutely no idea ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
MAJOR BOOK HANGOVER BECAUSE OF
Favorite characters dying; the book being that big of a disappointment
NUMBER OF BOOKCASES YOU OWN
EL OH EL.
Just one. And it’s not even in my home. It’s at my mothers. So basically you all now know why my floor and desk are covered in stacks at all times (I’d say I wish I was exaggerating, but I don’t because I like having that many books, but I’m really not exaggerating).
ONE BOOK YOU HAVE READ MULTIPLE TIMES
Looking for Alaska (earlier linked), Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn, and that entire Private Series I mentioned earlier by Kate Brian (also earlier linked). If you thought I was joking when I said I was obsessed with that series when I was younger, well now you know that I’m not much of a joker.
PREFERRED PLACE TO READ
My bed. It’s the only place I really can get comfortable when I’m reading.
QUOTE THAT INSPIRES YOU/GIVES YOU ALL THE FEELS FROM A BOOK YOU’VE READ
“The dead aren’t the only ones who vanish: you, too, can disappear in plain sight if enough is taken from you. I was still missing, in many ways. And I wasn’t sure I wanted to be found.” – Once and for All, Sarah Dessen
Also pretty much everything from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll.
Requesting too many ARCs. I love them and the opportunity to read books that haven’t even been published yet…. but oh my god there are so many.
SERIES YOU STARTED AND NEED TO FINISH (ALL BOOKS ARE OUT IN SERIES)
The Uglies series by Scott Westerfield. I mean, if you ask me, I finished the series, because as far as I’m concerned, the fourth installment can hardly count. I’m also not sure how I feel about the four new additions being added to the series all these years later.
THREE OF YOUR ALL-TIME FAVORITE BOOKS
I’ve already listed a few in here so I’m going to save you from having to read their titles again and go for some other ones. The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Steven Chbosky, Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf, and The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath.
UNAPOLOGETIC FANGIRL FOR
Mystery and suspense and dark, morbid stories. Send them all my way please.
VERY EXCITED FOR THIS RELEASE MORE THAN ALL THE OTHERS
I had a question quite similar to this in the last tag I did and unfortunately I still don’t have an answer. I never pay attention to release dates
WORST BOOKISH HABIT
Dog earing 😥 I try to keep lots of makeshift bookmarks on hand but sometimes I can’t ditch the habit entirely.
X MARKS THE SPOT: START AT THE TOP LEFT OF YOUR SHELF AND PICK THE 27TH BOOK
I’m nowhere near my bookshelf, so I’ll do this on my All list on GoodReads! The 27th book is… (pause for effect) Exit, Pursued by a Bear by E.K. Johnston. This is an unread and I frankly forgot it existed. I need to get on that.
YOUR LATEST BOOK PURCHASE
There’s been a lot going on and I’ve got so many books to read that I decided to lay off the book shopping for a few weeks. Since its been a while, I really don’t remember the last book I bought.
ZZZ-SNATCHER BOOK (LAST BOOK THAT KEPT YOU UP WAY LATE)
The Assassin Game by Kirsty McCay. Total sleep snatcher.
